Indoor family fun - why not baking cookies?

The colder months can drive parents crazy sometimes. When the weather is bad, children get bored and sometimes rowdy. And as a parent, it gets challenging, imagine ways to entertain the children and happy to keep. Sometimes the simplest things the most fun for children are. I don't think that I've ever met, love not baking cookies with MOM or dad in the kitchen a child.

While baking cookies is fun, there are also parents and caregivers the opportunity their children to teach useful skills such as counting, read and security precautions. If you have several children in your household, the baking cookies is a great group activity. The younger the cookies forms and the older can free of charge from the oven to remove. And who doesn't love to lick the leftover dough from the spoon.

So, you choose your recipe based on everyone's settings. Of course, the most popular recipe is for chocolate chip cookies. Can you can please almost any kind of cookies, the kids like peanut butter gingerbread crisp that adorn the children after they come out of the oven.

Here is a secret ingredient for those who use their cookies more tender crumb and a wonderful texture - cornstarch with your flour will give! It works well even in cakes, pie crusts and muffins. Although cornstarch not in many recipe books of today is marked, you can find this ingredient in some older cookbooks.

If you make cookies, allows you to experiment with different sizes. And they make a great gift. You can a huge cookie baking and put it in a special box, lined with tissue paper (after it has cooled of course) or you can bake a whole series of miniature cookies with wire stems, and create a cookie bouquet. If that sounds too complicated, decorated box to store your festivities can buy. It would be even better, buy a simple search for Tin and have help you with your children decorate the can. What a nice gift for grand parents or teachers.
